The Sims

When I first heard about The Sims, I was working as an office assistant for my college chancellor. Well, I wasn't working for him directly, I was working for his public relations director. One day, I was surfing the web as usual (when no one was looking. Admit it, you've done that too) when I saw an article about this upcoming game called The Sims. It sounded like a fun game, so I went ahead and preordered it from Amazon.com. When it arrived, though, I was a little disappointed. It didn't make me feel godlike, unlike what that article said. So I put it away for a while. Later, my friend borrowed it, got addicted to it, and subsequently bought it from me.

Fast forward to after college. Gateway probably had this marketing thing going on with Maxis and gave me a free copy of The Sims with my desktop. This time, I got hooked. Maybe it's because my desktop is more powerful than the laptop I had back in college. Before I knew it, I was the happy owner of all its expansion packs and Sims 2. Yay Sims 2. I'm especially a sucker for when the parent comes home from work and the kid rushes out to give his/her dad/mom a hug. And when the parents cuddle their babies and go "oohhh..." And when the parents snuggle their toddlers and the little ones snuggle back. Oh, oh, and when the babies get bathed in the sinks. Those are especially cute. Hmm, I can feel my biological clock ticking, ticking...

And...where was I? Oh yeah, I also have like five gigabytes of downloaded user objects, hacked items, custom animations, and special skins so my Sims could have more fun. Oh yeah, and I do have skins of Final Fantasy and shoujo anime characters (of course).

Can't say I burn for my Sims. Can't say I'm addicted to them either. Yeah, maybe hooked is an appropriate term. I really don't have the shakes when I don't play The Sims for a long time. I actually won't talk about it for hours on the end either simply because the game is a different experience for each person. Although if you ask for advice on where to get certain stuff to enhance your game, I'll probably rattle off some sources you could check out.

This section of the site is currently under construction. Right now I'm in my rabid anime fan phase. I cycle through different obsessions ^_^
